I appreciate the straightforward way voter suppression and it’s long term effects was laid out in this piece. I’ve witnessed first hand family members deciding that it’s too hard to make the effort. I’d like to suggest a correction related to the description of LBJ starting out as a teacher. Cotulla is not in the hill country of Texas. It is 90 miles south of San Antonio by way of Interstate 35. Thank you for this Substack!
